David Clark’s passion for serving students converges with his professional expertise to produce outstanding programs and services that support Emory students from their first day on campus through the day they graduate. Uniquely qualified for his position, David’s extensive experience in student affairs spans his leadership of complex academic and programmatic initiatives as well as a range of operational and auxiliary functions.

As vice president of Campus Life, David provides strategic direction and oversight for Housing Operations, Residence Life, Sorority and Fraternity Life, Dining, Technical Services, Bookstore, Student Centers, Finance Service Center, Human Resources, EmoryCard, Communications and Marketing, and Strategic Initiatives. He serves on Campus Life’s Executive Leadership Team and reports to Sr. Vice President and Dean of Campus Life Enku Gelaye.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in higher education and student affairs, David leads teams that consistently make major contributions to Emory’s commitment to student flourishing, such as improving students’ equitable access to services. In collaboration with colleagues in Campus Life and other Emory organizations, he co-led multiple aspects of the university’s response to COVID-19. He also stepped forward to serve as co-interim athletic director during the nationwide search for a permanent AD.

Earlier in his career, David served as assistant vice president for Campus Life and associate dean in the College at the University of Chicago, where he managed major auxiliary services and programmatic efforts, including dining and housing. At Wake Forest University, his leadership spanned residential life, human resources, information technology, facilities operation, and operations that supported seven graduate and undergraduate programs in the business school.

An active member of NASPA, the leading association for student affairs professionals, David has served the organization as chair of the International Education Knowledge Community, member of the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice editorial board, and regular participant in the Fraternity and Sorority Life Summit. In 2021, NASPA Region III recognized him with the prestigious AVP/Senior Level Student Affairs Professional Award.

David earned his PhD in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

With a collaborative spirit and a commitment to helping students to flourish, Kristina Bethea Odejimi (O-Day-Juh-Me) is passionate about creating opportunities for students to engage with one another and with the larger university community as an essential part of their Emory journey.

As Campus Life’s dean of students and associate vice president for belonging, engagement and community, Kristina brings more than a decade of comprehensive experience in student affairs. She serves as a visionary, collaborator and member of Campus Life’s Executive Leadership Team, reporting to Sr. Vice President and Dean of Campus Life Enku Gelaye.

Kristina partners with colleagues at all levels of the institution to support Emory students and the university’s commitment to student flourishing. She manages a portfolio of eight departments: 1915 Scholars Program; Barkley Forum for Debate, Deliberation, and Dialogue; Belonging and Community Justice; Civic and Community Engagement; Parent and Family Programs; Student Case Management and Intervention Services; Student Conduct; and Student Involvement, Leadership, and Transitions. These departments are primarily responsible for programs and services that support and enhance students’ sense of belonging and their engagement with the university through community building, conflict resolution, leadership and involvement, and outreach.

Before joining Emory in 2023, Kristina served as the dean of students at Bowdoin College. In that role, she was responsible for counseling and wellness services, health services, student accessibility, and the Office of the Dean of Students, including overseeing all class deans, student conduct, case management, international student services, and new student orientation.

Kristina earned her doctor of education in leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University, a master’s in student affairs practice in higher education from the University of Virginia, and a bachelor’s in sociology/anthropology and Black studies from Denison University. Over the years, she has delivered and partnered on a range of student affairs presentations and is a member of several professional associations. Kristina is also a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Keiko Price brings a Division I athletics background to Emory, experience developing programs at leading universities, and a drive to help student-athletes succeed in sports and life. A former NCAA standout swimmer, she understands the journey of the student-athlete and generously shares that knowledge. Her priority is ensuring that Emory’s 400-plus student-athletes continue to flourish in the classroom and on the field of competition.

As associate vice president of Campus Life and the Clyde Parton, Sr., director of athletics, Keiko draws on more than 20 years of experience in administrative leadership and academic support. A member of the Executive Leadership Team, she reports to Sr. Vice President and Dean of Campus Life Enku Gelaye.

Keiko oversees a 19-sport intercollegiate athletics program for Emory University, which is a UAA Conference member and NCAA Division III competitor with 32 national championships and 218 UAA team championships. Keiko also oversees Recreation and Wellness facilities operations and programming – including club sports, intramurals, fitness and special events – available to Emory’s 15,000 students.

Before joining Emory, Keiko was senior associate athletics director at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, providing executive oversight of the department’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and serving as sport administrator for varsity programs. She also served on the university chancellor’s Diversity and Leadership Council, Women’s Resource Center Advisory Committee, and several NCAA and Big Ten committees. In 2018, she was awarded the institution’s Lorraine Y. Cowan Make a Difference Award.

Earlier in her career, Keiko was director of football student-athlete development at the University of California, Berkeley, and assistant academic director for student-athletes at Stanford University. Her professional memberships include USA Swimming’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. In 2023, she was appointed to the NCAA Division III Management Council.

Keiko is a Hawaii native, former collegiate swimmer, and recipient of numerous athletics and academic honors. She holds a master’s of education in language, literature, and culture from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor’s in African American studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she is a member of the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame.

James Raper is dedicated to creating a community at Emory that facilitates well-being for every undergraduate, graduate and professional student. He engages broad campus partnerships and employs qualitative and quantitative data to develop a shared vision for campus well-being – a vision that strengthens the student experience and enables each student to bring their full selves.

As Emory’s associate vice president for health and well-being, James is a member of Campus Life’s Executive Leadership Team and advises senior university leaders regarding effective systems-level approaches to student health and well-being.

Developing, implementing, and evaluating university-wide strategies for comprehensive student well-being are a primary focus of James’ work. He also provides oversight of the Health and Well-being Leadership Team, which is responsible for the integrated health and well-being services delivered by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Office of Health Promotion, Office of Respect, and Student Health Services (SHS).

James brings more than 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and student affairs administrator. In addition to his clinical experiences, his background includes collaborative strategic planning, risk management, and serving as graduate level faculty member. Before joining Emory, he was assistant vice president of health and wellbeing at Wake Forest University. Prior to that, he was the university’s counseling center director and chief mental health officer, drawing on extensive experience in leading university behavioral intervention, threat assessment and crisis management.

James is a clinical mental health counselor-supervisor licensed in North Carolina. He played a leading role in the creation and development of the inaugural national group of university health and well-being leaders and is regularly invited to share his expertise in national and international settings. His research and publications include a book chapter on crisis intervention and clinical burnout as well as a doctoral dissertation on counselor suicide intervention skill. He engages with a range of professional associations and volunteers with several community organizations.

With a PhD in counselor education and supervision from Syracuse University, James also holds a master’s in community counseling from Wake Forest University and a bachelor’s in religion from Colgate University.
