International Student Orientation Assistants

The International Student & Scholar Programs (ISSP) will hire several Orientation Assistants (OAs) to help with international student orientation in August, 2008. The assistants will help newly arrived international undergraduate and graduate students adjust to Emory University and the Atlanta community. All assistants will be trained on cross-cultural communication skills, office and check-in procedures, and orientation resources.

Orientation Assistants: The office will hire 4 assistants to work August 11-29, 2008, averaging about 4 hours per day. Applicants must be available during entire time period and all day long on Thursday, August 21, 2008. Some of the tasks involved include: assisting with food and household shopping, giving campus tours, checking students in as they arrive, introducing students to departmental and campus resources, welcome events, info sessions, and general office clerical work.

Stipend: $450.00 for entire period (BEFORE taxes).
