Winter Break

Thursday, Decemeber 19, 2019, to Sunday, January 12, 2020

In accordance with the Emory University calendar, Campus Life will observe the winter recess from Tuesday, December 24, through Wednesday, January 1. Offices will reopen Thursday, January 2, 2020.

The following services remain available for students during the break.

Residence Life staff members at Clairmont Campus are on call 8pm - 8am during winter recess.

Emergency Housing

During winter and summer recesses, undergraduate students may apply for temporary on-campus housing if they are unable to return home due to financial restrictions, safety concerns, or if they are at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Food Insecurity

Students who may experience food insecurity over the Winter Recess may request a food bag from CSSPS: tinyurl.com/CSSPS-FOOD

Student Health Services (SHS) is available Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, except for December 24 – January 1, 2020.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) staff is available Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, excepter for December 24 - January 1, 2020. Please contact Student Intervention Services (SIS) on-call at 404-430-1120 for urgent concerns. If it is an emergency, please call 911 or Emory Police at 404-727-6111.

Urgent medical questions or concerns after hours or weekends

Contact the Emory University Student Health Services' medical call center (AccessNurse) by calling 404-727-7551 and pressing "0."

After hours Psychiatry

  • If you are an established patient at Student Health Services Psychiatry, you can call the on-call psychiatrist at 404-778-5000 for urgent concerns. The on-call psychiatrist is reserved for urgent situations that cannot wait until the next business day.
  • For requests as an established patient for medication refills, please send a secure message through Your Patient Portal and the message will be attended to the next business day.
  • If you are experiencing a life-threatening situation please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Student Intervention Services (all students)

Student Intervention Services (SIS) is on call 24/7. If you need assistance, please call 404-430-1120. If it is an emergency, please call 911 or Emory Police at 404-727-6111.

Respect On-Call

During Winter Recess, Respect calls are being redirected to SIS. If hospitalization is needed, a Respect Advocate will be present at the hospital to support the student.
